United States and Russia Tensions Get High

The U.S and Russian tensions are getting high. The article in MSN gave a detailed repot on the U.S. involvement with Russia and Ukraine. The problem seemed to be resolved, and it seemed like Russia was going to settle to situation in a political way. They wanted to come together and meet, and they all wanted to agree on a set of terms. Russia's president is being really sketchy in how he has been acting all throughout the political agreement process. The U.S. figured out that the political process was not working when a Russian Fighter plane flew over a battle ship stationed in the Black Sea. The plane reportedly had been warned multiple times that it was flying to low and was not following procedures and would be fired upon. The plane swooped down over the battle ship simulating that it was going to drop a bomb on the battle ship, but it eventually left the airspace and reported back to base. President Obama got word about this incident, and he made a personal phone call to the Russian President about the incident. He did not apologize and he treated it like it was no big deal because the plane was "supposedly" not armed. The Russian president is beginning to give off the attitude that he is preparing to take over the Ukraine no matter what. The U.S. involvement in this is very crucial, because the Ukraine is asking for help, and we can not deny ally help. It will be very interesting to see how the Russian President tries to resolve this desire to take over the Ukraine.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism has become a big topic in the life of education recently. It is something that many teachers have let slide, but now with this new age of technology it is becoming more and more important to make sure students are learning the material and not just copying and pasting from a website. If I was ever accused of Plagiarism I think my initial reaction would be defensive. I would go back and see if I truly meant to copy something from a website just to get a good grade and take someone else's idea and call it my own. I would feel offended by the conviction, but if I knew it was true then I believe I would feel guilty more than anything else. My parents would respond with an investigation type attitude. They would want to find out everything and then decide whether or not they believed I was being truthful or not. If I was caught Plagiarizing then my parents would be very disappointed and frustrated especially if it cost me a big test grade in a class. My parents paying tuition should affect the type of education I receive. I believe it has nothing to do with whether or not a get a passing grade or not. I should not get better treatment because I pay to go to school, but I should be held to a higher standard of learning the material and striving to do my best in every class. The story gave me a new perspective on plagiarism. It made me think about how serious that it really is becoming to copy things from the internet and use them as there own. I think this will be a very big topic for the years to come, and this is becoming the new form of cheating especially in colleges. It is something that need to be addressed as right or wrong in a school and in a classroom by a teacher so every student understands the severity of Plagiarism.

The Innocent put on Death Row

The topic of our judicial system on death row has never really been a favored one. Death row is a hard thing in our country to most people. It is the highest punishment for a crime committed by a person. Could it be that we focus more on how harsh it is than who is being put on death row. No judge and jury are perfect, and there will always be wholes in the system, but there are too many stories of innocent men or women being put on death row. American people do not need to be judgmental people, but we should be a people that truly believe in "innocent till proven guilty." It is something that our courts are based off of, and it is a very unique perspective compared to other countries. Our system of punishment is one of the most civilized ways in the world, but what about the innocent people that are put on death row. Many people including the story of the South Carolina man named Edward Lee Elmore have been innocent and put on death row. Luckily, after 30 years of being on death row Elmore's' case was looked at by a group of lawyers. They found that the evidence in the case was persuading on the side of innocence. They brought it to a judges attention and he was freed. There are so many stories of different men and women who the judicial system has failed on. Nothing is perfect, but we as a free people should at least bring awareness to the topic of innocent people being killed. I pray that we never become a people that only care about ourselves and our own well being!

Ukraine Revolution

The Court Square of Ukraine has become war zone. The Ukrainian people are revolting against the government. The people are ready to take a stand, and they want out of Soviet Union rule. The people are calling for western Freedom. There are protesters that are fighting against the Ukrainian police. There are reports of gun fire and there have been multiple deaths. The protesters have put together homemade shield to protect themselves from snipers on top of the Capital roof. The people are trying to take a stand to tell the government that they want western freedom, and they know that with the upcoming election it is possible for independence. The Ukrainian people also know that there is a danger of going back to old Ukrainian rule. Innocent protesters are being killed daily. The government is trying to find a quick but sufficient solution to the problem. Police are working day and night, and the threat of rebellion rises as the days go on. My heart goes out to the people who have been killed.

The Idea of Creation or Evolution

The debate between Evolution and Creation has been going on for ages. It has become something the scientist and Creation scientist have butted heads over for many years. The topic of which one is right is not my place to say. I think that both sides have points that lead back to a Creator, and that it was not all just chance.  Many facts have been presented from both side, and many people have argued this topic. I believe that Christians could be arguing about greater things than if the Earth was created in 7 literal days or not. We are focusing on a topic that we may not ever have the answer too, but if God gives someone the knowledge or finding that one side it true then the debate can end. Ham has given the majority of his time and popularity trying to prove that evolutionist are crazy to believe the World was made by chance. I am glad that he knows his facts, and that he gives the glory to God. Both Ken Ham and Bill Nye gave there view in the debate whether  or not creation is a valid way of explaining how the World was made. The article on the debate do not tell a winner or loser, but they stay neutral. Many people will discuss there views on this topic for a while, and this debate will bring out some biased people. it will also bring out the open people who are looking for a for sure answer on the topic. The truth is that each person could give as many facts as they could on each side, but no one was there during the beginning of time. Christians believe that God spoke everything into existence, and we use the bible as a true source to back that up. Evolutionist try and use the earth to prove that it is millions of years old, and that we are all here on Earth by chance. There are many different views in the world on many different topics. It is not Christians jobs to take down other views on creation, because we do not have to lean on whether or not God created us in 7 literal days or not.

I believe that the foundation of my faith is Jesus Christ, and that he came to the earth 100% God and 100% man. I believe that He came as the Son of God to be the sacrificial lamb of our sins. I base my faith off of the Truth that God is my father and that he has the power to Create the World in a day or in a 1000 days. He is the Almighty God so I believe that He has the Power to do anything he wants to do. He is a perfect God so I do not have to base my faith on whether or not God created the World through creation or through evolution. Christ is the rock, and I do not have to focus on the topics that have different views and opinions.

Game Day

Game time is here again. The lions from Trinity face off in a 1A district matchup against the JCS eagles. The Lions are looking to try and get hot at the right time, and the eagles are looking to get an upset tonight. The lions are trying to prove that the past does not define the team. It is about going 1-0 every game. The Lions have not had a dominant scorer every game, nor do they need one. Trinity has a defense that can send teams into panic, and they have a 5 in 5 out rotation. Any player from the bench or the starting five could have a great scoring night. On the other side of the floor, the eagles have struggled this season, but they have some good shooters that could get hot at the right time. It will be a great game to watch. Come out and see a Lion victory tonight tip off of the girls game is at 6:30.

GAME TIME

Game time is here again. The Adamsville Cardinals and Trinity Lions face off in the Cardinals nest. The cardinals will be trying to ride the high on being first place in the district after defeating Middleton last week. The Lions come in to this game with something to prove. The Lions have had a great last two seasons, but they have realized that the past is the past, and the only thing that can get them to there goal is right now. The lions have got a deep bench as always, and there starters tend to start off strong, but they thrive off of there lock down defense. The Lions are looking to put 4 quarters together for tonight's games. The Lions and the Cardinals have created something of a rivalry between the two schools. Football and Basketball has made these two teams become very competitive when they meet and play one another. Come out and watch the Lions and Cardinals play. Tip off for the girls will be at 6:00 with the guys following!
Go Lions!
